Melissa Shane

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (Illinois License 180008837) and my educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counseling, both from Bradley University. I have extensive experience teaching in higher education, corporate training, and providing therapy to children, adults and families in our community.

I enjoy helping adults manage life stressors and deal with difficult people. I partner with adults of all ages to find solutions and direction during stressful times.

I am passionate about helping modern families understand and navigate digital media and deal with issues like screen time, cyberbullying and sexting.

I also like helping clients with gender and sexual identity issues, parental divorce and high conflict custody disputes.  I am  skilled at helping children, tweens, teens and young adults and their families cope more effectively with depression and anxiety.

When people experience life changes or stressful events it is not uncommon for them to need a helping hand to get back on track. I am honored to help bring healing to people who have been through traumatic or stressful life experiences. I use a practical approach to help you, your child, or your family find real world solutions in a confidential manner.
